Britney Spears fans beg FBI to find her after star's cryptic Instagram posts

Britney Spears' fans have urged the FBI to help find her after there were concerns over her health in the wake of a sting of 'red flags' on social media.

Fans of the American singer have been left worried after she's shared cryptic posts on her Instagram page.

On Thursday, Britney posted a photo of a red square without a caption - the second time she has done so in the past week.

After doing it a second time, fans took to the comments to express their concerns.

One wrote: "Are you ok?" as another said: "Give us a new clue please."

A third person commented: "WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?!!!"

Another put: "Can we do a wellness check on this poor woman?! I feel so HELPLESS, and I can’t imagine how she must feel!"

Britney hasn't addressed the bizarre post or explained why she's decided to share it twice.

Britney has been embracing life to full since the end of her conservatorship in November, getting married to long-term partner Sam Ashgari, plotting a comeback and now finishing her book.

Sources told TMZ that the Sometimes singer and her team were hoping to release the book, set to be published by Simon & Schuster, in January but a paper shortage has scuppered the plan.

Dishearteningly there's no indication of when the shortage will be solved, and so no firm publishing date for the singer's memoir, the sources added.

TMZ reported that Britney's publishing deal, which she signed in February, netted her a $15m advance and there is set to be lots of material to vent about.
