Britney Spears' ex Kevin concerned she's on crystal meth and helped set up intervention

Britney Spears ' ex-husband Kevin Federline fears that she's been on crystal meth, with him having shared concerns about the mother of his sons overdosing.

Kevin, 45, and Britney, 41 - who were married from 2004 until around 2007 - have two children together, with their eldest son Preston, 17, and their youngest Jayden, 16.

The former dancer - who has custody of their two children - has shared concern over his ex-wife and reportedly helped stage an intervention in February that didn't go ahead.

He said about his ex-wife Britney: "I fear she's on meth - I've been praying someone would make it public and that she wakes up. It's terrifying. She is the mother of my boys."

Kevin made the comment to Daphne Barak, as reported by The Sun, and shared with her that he helped set up an intervention in an attempt to 'save Britney from herself'.

The outlet states that Britney's sons claim they witnessed someone close to their mother bringing her what looked like drugs before they decided to stop seeing her last year.

It's alleged that these concerns, along with what has been described as "erratic behaviour," led to an intervention attempt by people who know her back on February 7.

Kevin is said to have been staying with Daphne around then and it's claimed that Britney's friends and family rented a "safe house" in Los Angeles and hired an "interventionist".

Kevin is said to have told the journalist whilst waiting for an update at the time: "I don't want the boys to wake up one morning and find their mother has taken an overdose."

It's claimed that Britney's husband Sam Asghari, her manager Cade Hudson and medical professionals were also involved with the plan and that the interventionist was on standby.

K evin was said to be waiting for a text from a friend of Britney's to say that the intervention was underway. The pal reportedly "quit" instead, saying she couldn't do it any longer.

Kevin is said to have been told to contact the interventionist directly, though it's claimed that his calls went unanswered and shortly afterwards news of the plan "leaked".

Britney seemingly addressed the speculation on social media earlier this year, saying: "It makes me sick to my stomach that it's even legal for people to make up stories that I almost died."

She made her post back in February - when rumours of an intervention made headlines - and also commented in it: "I mean at some point enough is enough!"

Another relative is said to have told the outlet that they believed it was the "last chance for saving her". The expressed concern that another intervention wouldn't be possible.

The Sun reports that in one incident before cutting contact with his mum, Jayden told his father that he was woken by his mother in the middle of the night holding a knife.

Desperate for Britney to "get better," Jayden has reportedly been refusing to answer her calls and texts since revealing through Daphne that he was no longer seeing her.

Preston is said to have called Britney in December around the time of her birthday and had a "good talk" with her recently, according to the article published by the outlet.
