Britney Spears and Rihanna are 'bonding all over again' over their baby bumps

Britney Spears and Rihanna have bonded over their baby bumps in recent months.

Pop legend Britney has been enjoying her freedom after the termination of her 13-year long conservatorship which dictated how she spent her money, and took away her rights to make decisions about her career, health and even her personal life.

The blonde hitmaker was vocal in her desire to end the conservatorship, which was finally terminated in November 2021 after a lengthy legal battle.

Since then, the 40-year-old mum-of-two has shared her feelings on her experiences with her millions of fans via Instagram.g dedicated podcasts like Britney's Gram.

The star revealed she had taken to listening to Rihanna's music to escape during her dark days under the conservatorship.

Closer Magazine reports the songstress told her followers she felt like she was "flying" when dancing to Rihanna's hits.

The pair performed together 11 years ago, wowing audiences with a steamy rendition of Rihanna's hit single S&M at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards. Now, they're both celebrating their pregnancies at the same time.

Rihanna, 34, is expecting her first child with her boyfriend, American rapper A$AP Rocky, while Britney is expecting her third child with fiancé Sam Asghari. Britney shares two sons, Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline. Earlier this month, the Baby One More Time hitmaker confirmed she and Asghari were expecting their first child together.

An insider has reportedly told Closer that after over a decade of her friendships being controlled by her father and conservators, Britney was overjoyed to learn of Rihanna's happy news and saw it as an ideal opportunity to reach out.

The source said: "Britney's a big fan so as soon as the news broke that Rihanna was expecting, she sent her a huge gift basket.

"RiRi got in touch to thank her and they've been messaging since then. And now Britney's expecting too, they're bonding all over again are making plans to eventually get together.

"Britney's so happy that she's finally allowed to make friends now she's out of the conservatorship. She and Rihanna had a great connection but her dad put a stop to any friendships. That's something Britney's still angry about."

The source also revealed the two are planning to meet up for "playdates" with their new babies.

Britney's baby news is particularly poignant after she revealed that during her conservatorship, she was forced to use birth control to prevent her from getting pregnant again. The source explained it "means the world" to Britney when she receives support from her peers in the music industry.

Rihanna was similarly magnanimous when she learned Britney was also expecting. The musician and beauty mogul sent Britney a large package of Fenty makeup and lingerie.

It's been a number of years since both Britney and Rihanna have released any new music, with Rihanna focusing on her successful Fenty business empire in recent times, but Britney hopes this will change. The source added Britney intends to reach out to more of her music industry pals and also hopes to work with Rihanna on a song in the future.
