The British teenager behind the notorious Grand Theft Auto VI hack has been sentenced to an indefinite hospital order.
18-year-old Arion Kurtaj from Oxford, who is autistic, was a "key player" in the international gang Lapsus$ - and carried out a hacking spree against major tech firms including Rockstar Games, the developer of the hugely successful video game franchise.
Kurtaj stole codes and footage of the unreleased and long-awaited sequel, he then published some of the stolen material online and blackmailed Rockstar. The judge said the teen’s skills and desire to commit cyber-crime meant he remained a high risk to the public.
