British Steel has started a search for 30 graduates to help support the biggest transformation in its history.
The company has pledged to invest in a range of technologies to build a clean, green and sustainable future for the business, its thousands of employees and the communities in which it operates.
And to help drive to deliver net-zero steel - which the Scunthorpe-headquartered firm has labelled the biggest challenge it has ever faced - it is now looking to recruit.

An additional 10 more apprentice positions have also been added to last month’s application opening for 40, taking the total available roles across both levels to 80.
British Steel’s human resources director, Derek Scott, said: “Steel is vital to modern economies and we’re investing in our business and our people to ensure we keep supplying the steel society needs. Our transformation is well underway and our new apprentices and graduates will play key roles in helping us build a net zero future.
“This is a hugely exciting time for our business and we have a wide-range of opportunities for people to join us and build fantastic careers.”
Graduate opportunities are at locations across the UK, with Scunthorpe, Skinningrove and Teesside featuring prominently. They cover mechanical engineering and electrical engineering roles, while there are also graduate positions in sales and marketing, procurement, technical and manufacturing.
Mr Scott said all offer “competitive starting salaries and superb training and development opportunities,” with September starts.
Apprentices will join the 4,000-strong business in Scunthorpe and Teesside, enrolling on three-year training programmes for engineering and technical roles.
The company revealed its environmentally-focused investment pledge in October, with the opportunity to make a difference at the heart of the UK’s most carbon intensive industrial cluster, seen as a big draw for those looking to embark upon meaningful careers as they emerge from school, college and university or look to re-train.
