There was some fierce competition in London on Saturday night as the heavyweights of continuing drama did battle at the British Soap Awards 2022, with Emmerdale taking home the big prize of the night and Doctors causing an upset.
Like many big events, the annual bash was thwarted by coronavirus restrictions for a few years, so the casts and crews of Coronation Street, Doctors, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks were determined to make this year's ceremony one to remember. They gathered at the Hackney Empire, with Phillip Schofield master of ceremonies for the evening.
There were a number of big changes to the British Soap Awards nominations this year, with a brand new category - Best Family and Best Actress and Best Actor dropped and streamlined into Best Lead Performer.
The awards went out at 7.30pm on ITV and we updated this article as the results came in on the night, with the winners in each category marked in bold italic. Other categories include Scene of the Year and Newcomer.
