British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has advised US President Donald Trump against accepting any peace deal in Ukraine that would 'reward' Russia or its allies. This statement came during a joint news conference held after a meeting between the two leaders in the Oval Office.
Starmer emphasized the importance of achieving a peace agreement that does not benefit the aggressor and does not embolden dangerous regimes like Iran. He highlighted the need to 'win the peace' and ensure that any resolution to the conflict in Ukraine is just and fair.

During the news conference, Starmer also mentioned the significant increase in defense spending that the UK has undertaken. He announced a substantial rise in military spending, marking the largest sustained increase since the Cold War.
Earlier in the week, Starmer revealed plans to raise military spending from 2.3% of Britain's GDP to 2.5% by 2027, with a further increase to 2.6% the following year. This move underscores the UK's commitment to bolstering its defense capabilities and addressing global security challenges.
