British mother-of-two dies after Brazilian butt-lift surgery in Turkey

A British mother-of-two has died after having cosmetic surgery in Turkey.

Kaydell Brown, 38, from Sheffield, paid £5,400 for a “mummy MOT” - a package deal involving a Brazilian butt lift, a tummy tuck and a boob job.

Her family said she had hoped the procedure would change her life.

But tragically, Ms Brown never came out of surgery at the Clinic Expert in Istanbul on the morning of March 26, 2024.

Speaking to ITV, her heartbroken sister Leanne, 40, has slammed the clinic, calling it a “pop-up butcher shop”.

She claimed she was handed an envelope of cash and was booked on the next flight home after being informed of her sister’s death.

“It's like, ‘Sorry she's dead, here's your plane ticket’,” she told ITV.

Leanne said of her sister: “She was really happy. She was excited. We were smiling, having a laugh and she just wanted to get there and get it done.”

But 10 hours after the surgery, her sister Leanne was told that the operation had tragically killed her sister.

“They told me that evening that she didn't make it. I couldn't believe it. I was still in a room waiting for her to come back,” she told the broadcaster.

“I had asked a few times how long she was going to be, and they kept saying, ‘She's coming’”.

A spokesperson for the clinic insisted that there had been no medical malpractice, and that Kaydell’s tragic death was a result of “known complications” with the surgery.

“An internal investigation found no malpractice and Kaydell's death was likely caused by fat blocking a blood vessel, which can occur during this type of surgery,” the spokesperson said.

A fundraiser for Kaydell’s two young boys, 16 and 12, has so far raised nearly £2,500.

Writing in tribute, a family friend said: “I know the unexpected news has affected many people's hearts, any contributions made big or small will make a huge impact towards the boys’ future and help the family out.

“Kaydell had a huge impact on people throughout her life, being a good friend, beloved daughter, sister, niece, cousin. She was loved by many.”
