A 73-year-old British man tragically passed away on board a Singapore Airlines flight that encountered severe turbulence during its journey from London to Singapore. The General Manager of Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi International Airport confirmed this unfortunate incident on Tuesday.
The man's identity was disclosed by Kittipong Kittikachorn, who stated that the exact cause of death is yet to be determined by medical professionals. It was revealed that the passenger had a pre-existing heart condition, which may have contributed to the tragic outcome.
Kittikachorn expressed that this incident marked the first time in Thailand's history that a turbulence-related event resulted in a loss of life. He also mentioned that the deceased passenger's wife was currently receiving medical attention at a local hospital, presumably due to the distressing circumstances.
Upon reaching out for a response, the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office acknowledged the reports and indicated that they were actively investigating the matter to gather more information surrounding the incident.
