Emily Damari, one of the three hostages released from Gaza on Sunday, has finally returned home after 471 days of captivity. Upon entering Israel, Damari is set to reunite with her mother and undergo a medical assessment in Re’im, southern Israel.
In a heartfelt statement, Damari's mother expressed gratitude to everyone who tirelessly advocated for her daughter's release. She emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to secure the freedom of all remaining hostages and provide essential humanitarian aid to those still awaiting repatriation.
Alongside Damari, Romi Gonen and Doron Steinbrecher were also freed on Sunday, marking a significant development in the ongoing hostage situation. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer hailed the release as 'wonderful and long-overdue news,' extending his well wishes to the women as they embark on the path to recovery following their harrowing ordeal.
Starmer underscored the need for full implementation of the remaining phases of the ceasefire agreement, including the prompt release of all hostages and a substantial influx of humanitarian assistance into Gaza. He affirmed the UK's commitment to supporting efforts aimed at achieving a lasting and peaceful resolution to the conflict.
