British Gas is offering customers half price electricity every Sunday over the summer months through its PeakSave scheme.
The energy firm will be giving customers 50% off their electricity costs between 11am and 4pm every Sunday from this Sunday (June 25) until September 24.
The PeakSave scheme was introduced as part of the National Grid’s Demand Flexibility Service (DFS) during the winter of last year.
This scheme incentivised customers to use energy when prices were lower rather than at the "peak times".
British Gas says that demand for electricity is low on Sunday and says that customers should try and use "as much as they need" during these timeslots rather than at other times during the week.
If you take part in the scheme, British Gas will credit your energy account back with half of what you spend.
This payment will show up as "PeakSave Credit" on your bill and online energy statement and you will be sent a summary of what you have saved each month.
British Gas says the discount is available to both new and existing PeakSave customers - however, not every customer will be able to join the scheme.
Only people with smart meters will be able to join.
If you want to join, you will need to register your interest to join for each PeakSave event then you can do so through the British Gas website here.
You will need to provide your full name, email address, and customer reference number.
According to British Gas, if you join in the scheme across all 14 weeks you could make a saving of arod £30 - although actually savings will depend on your usage.

Catherine O’Kelly, managing director of British Gas Energy said: “We look forward to welcoming even more customers to the PeakSave scheme and helping them make savings on their bills this summer.
“The electricity grid continues to face enormous pressures and we recognise the need to better manage periods of peak demand to ensure a safe, constant and more sustainable supply across the UK. Since launching PeakSave last year, we have gained valuable insight on how we can control periods of high demand on the grid, while helping our customers to make significant savings.
“We want to increase the number of customers who have signed up to the scheme so we can understand its true potential and achieve a greener and more controlled grid.”
