Iranian authorities have detained a British couple since January on charges of spying, as reported by state media. The couple, a man and a woman, were arrested by the Revolutionary Guard's intelligence forces in the city of Kerman. They are accused of having links to intelligence agencies of 'hostile countries' and collecting information from various Iranian provinces.
While the couple's names were not disclosed in the report, a family statement released through the UK Foreign Office identified them as Craig and Lindsay Foreman. The UK Foreign Office expressed deep concern over the espionage charges and stated that they are providing consular assistance to the couple and maintaining close contact with their family.

The Foremans were reportedly traveling on motorbikes around the world when they entered Iran from Armenia in December. They were planning to continue their journey to Pakistan before being detained in January. The British ambassador to Iran met with the couple in Kerman, accompanied by Iranian officials.
Iran has a history of detaining Western nationals on security charges, often using them as leverage in negotiations with Western countries. However, Iran denies these accusations of using prisoners for political purposes.
