Britain's Got Talent slammed for 'most dangerous act in 16 years' as fans fume to Ofcom

Britain's Got Talent has been hit by a barrage of complaints over the most 'terrifying act in 16 years'.

Massage therapist Andrew Stanton forced a sword down his throat on Saturday, leaving viewers shocked - and sickened.

Judge Amanda Holden, 52, couldn't bear to look as the daredevil hooked two ropes onto her belt - before attaching the ends onto his eyeballs.

The mum-of-two told the fearless performer: “I only saw the first part of your act because believe me I had my eyes shut for the rest of it.

“I have been doing this show for 16 years and we have never seen anything like it.”

Simon added: “I say this as a compliment - it was the most disgusting thing in the history of Got Talent.”

Following the performance, Ofcom told the Mirror 71 complaints they'd received during the show "were related to a sword swallowing act".

As Andrew waltzed off with four yeses from the judges, host Declan Donnelly, 47, said: “I talked to one of the guys backstage who said this is one of the most dangerous things we have ever had on Britain’s Got Talent.”

Viewers were in agreement, with many saying they were "traumatised" by what they'd seen.

One tweeted: “L’ill bit traumatised by #BGT if I’m honest.”

A second said: “That guy made me feel physically sick, don’t think it’s appropriate at all #BGT”

While a third fumed:” #BGT going way too far, that sword act wasn’t talent, felt physically sick and had to pause so I could fast forward , gross out TV.”

It's not the first time the show has been hit by complaints after fans phoned Ofcom because of Amanda's outfits.

The actress is no stranger to flashing the flesh, however some thought her revealing attire was inappropriate for a family show.

Speaking at the Britain's Got Talent Q&A ahead of the show's premiere, the star said: "It's like the problem is everyone talking about my t*ts while these two all the time... [Bruno and Simon Cowell].

"[Simon's] shirt's always undone and [Bruno's] stripping off. No Ofcom complaints about me this year, please."

New judge Bruno Tonioli was gobsmacked at the idea of his co-star receiving complaints.

He mused: "If you got it flaunt it and you girls [Amanda and Alesha Dixon ] got it. I don't understand this complaining, what is the problem?"

Amanda quipped: "It's nothing, people have too much time on their hands."
