Britain’s Got Talent's Viggo Venn lands major project after being 'embarrassed to win'

Britain's Got Talent winner Viggo Venn has landed his first major project despite admitting he was "embarrassed" to take home the top spot.

The Norwegian comedian caused a stir when he was announced as winner of this year's series after the audience were heard booing at his unlikely win.

He then pulled out of an appearance on Lorraine, where he was expected to give his first interview since his frosty reception to bagging the £250,000 prize.

Yet Viggo Venn has put the controversies behind him with his exciting news.

The comedian is set to embark on his first ever UK tour where he will bring his unique show to 20 venues across the nation.

Viggo said: “I have been receiving thousands of videos on Instagram from young and old dancing around in hi vis vests and nothing makes me happier!

"So excited to bring a show full of fun, quirkiness and surprises for everyone! Can’t wait to meet people and go on a highly visible UK tour! (I will bring Viggo-vests with me, if you forget yours!)"

The tour will kick off in Milton Keynes at The Stables on October 23 where he will then head to St Albans, Glasgow, Salford, Guildford, London and Sheffield.

He will also perform in Norwich, Brighton, Bournemouth, Southend, Exeter, Cardiff, Colchester, Nottingham, Swindon, Newcastle, Winchester, Leeds before concluding the tour in Taunton on February 21 2024.

Viggo set out to defend his Britian's Got Talent win by appearing on ITV's Lorraine, just a day after he pulled out.

Lorraine began by pointing out: "We need fun, and you are very silly."

He replied: "I was kinda hoping I didn't win because it would be so embarrassing but I was very happy when they said it the British public have such sense of ridiculous humour."

The Norwegian comedian also made the appearance on Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston's Heart Breakfast where he admitted he didn't think he would win.

He was so sure he wouldn't take home the top prize, that he booked a show the day after the final.

"I should never have done that so no, I expected to not win Britain's Got Talent," he admitted.

Hi-vis-wearing Viggo was visibly shocked after he was announced as the winner, nabbing £250,000 and a place on the Royal Variety Show, and went on to race around the stage and knock host Ant McPartlin over.

However, after the result was announced some of the audience could be heard booing.
