Britain's Got Talent's David Walliams recognises Liverpool contestant

Britain's Got Talent judge David Walliams recognised a contestant from Liverpool on tonight's show.

Schoolboy Dante Marvin, 13, performed a comedy song about his brittle bone disease . Dante was born with the condition and has broken 97 bones.

He has spent most of his young life in and out of hospital for treatment, including painful rod replacement surgery in his legs. In 2019, Dante was awarded a Child of Courage award at The Pride of Britain awards.

His moto of “there are no disabilities, only abilities” took him to the Britain's Got Talent stage tonight where he wowed the judges with his act. In the piece, Dante joked about he gets to skip the queues when he goes to Disneyland.

He also took a hilarious dig at Simon Cowell. Dante said: "When I got my new wheels, they looked so ace. I was happy like Simon when he got his new face."

Dante's song was a hit with the audience and the judges who gave him a standing ovation. It was then revealed that David Walliams had previously met Dante and dedicated a book to him.

David said: "Me and Dante know each other, we've met a few times. He said can you write a book about a boy in a wheelchair and I dedicated it to Dante. Did you write that song yourself?"

Dante said: "Yes, in lockdown."

David added: "It really captured you, how cheeky you are, how special you are and how much you do to inspire others too, so I loved it Dante."
