Britain's Got Talent result branded 'predictable' by viewers as Simon Cowell 'refuses' to choose

Monday night's Britain's Got Talent result has divided viewers of the ITV show, with some branding it 'predictable' as others argued that certain acts were 'robbed' of a final spot. And Simon Cowell has come under fire for 'refusing' to choose between two of the acts and sending the outcome to deadlock.

The new series of the long-running programme is hurtling by at lightning speed now and there are now just days to go until this year's final. Before then, a wide variety of acts are vying to earn a spot in the live finale and the first eight of those took to the stage for the first heat on Monday.

The act that topped the first public vote of the week was heroic dancer Musa Motha, two days on from the amputee and massively talented performer forcing all four Britain's Got Talent judges to hit the Golden Buzzer at the same time, as the audience would not stop chanting for them to put him straight through.

He was on fantastic form again in his semi but, while his fate was sealed by the public's backing, the decision on who should make it through to the final out of Amy-Lou and musician Abi Carter was put in the hands of the judges. However, that ended up not taking things any further forward as they couldn't decide between the two.

As hosts Ant and Dec pushed for an outcome, the result went back to the pubic vote and it was revealed that Amy Lou had finished second top. And, as well as there being plenty of people disappointed that Abi didn't make it through, there were others who were shocked and annoyed that others like Enzo Weyne and Parkour Collective weren't even in contention.

Branding the result 'predictable,' one viewer took to Twitter to post: "Totally giving up on @itv. Corruption everywhere and even #BGT has lost its shine. Final 3 are as predictable as night follows day and Simon sends it 2 deadlock every night instead of actually having the balls 2 do his job. The whole channel needs a complete reboot."

A second, also taking aim at Simon, tweeted: "what is the point of having the judges choose the 2nd finalist when you nearly always revert to the public vote? Just give places to the top 2 anyway and do away with the judges vote"
