Britain’s Got Talent has reassured fans after they were left stunned following Ant McPartlin ’s nasty fall during the show’s live semi-final.
The 47-year-old, who hosts the ITV talent show alongside Declan Donnelly, took a scary tumble as he rushed on stage to join previous BGT winners Diversity.
Ant was seen by horrified viewers skidding across the stage before collapsing in a heap with his legs in the air, having landed on his back.
Judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli were in hysterics following the dramatic fall, and couldn’t stop laughing at poor Ant who was lying dazed on the floor.
Even his long-time co-host and best friend Dec couldn’t contain his laughter, as he and Diversity frontman Ashley Banjo were crying laughing.
And when Dec asked his pal if he was okay, Ant replied: “I wet myself and farted at the same time!”
“Is your coccyx alright?” Amanda asked him.
Ant was later shown his fall in slow motion, and he jokingly blamed the “slippy stage” for making him tumble.
“I'm making a claim! That was a very slippy stage,” he quipped.
Viewers took to Twitter to share their concern for the much-loved telly star, with one writing: “I reckon that hurt more than he could show, bruises tomorrow,” while another added: “That looked SO painful. Hope Ant’s ok."
BGT then moved to reassure fans, and gave them an update on Ant.
“Don't worry, Ant's fine!” they tweeted.
Many viewers managed to see the funny side of the incident, with one posting: “Everyone caught up with the live show now after rewinding it a few times to watch Ant fall over? #BGT.”
“Catching up on #BGT and my god that fall Ant had at the start. I shouldn’t laugh but I can’t help it…,” another joked.
“Lights Camera and Fall #BGT #Ant,” another quipped.
