Britain's Got Talent fans 'in tears' at 'inspiring' golden buzzer act

Fans of ITV's Britain's Got Talent were brought to tears while watching tonight's show.

Dance act Born to Perform took to the stage to show judges Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon their performance. The group was made up of people with different disabilities, aged 14 to 24, from Northampton.

Speaking on behalf of the group, one of the members said: "I have autism and Ellie has Downs syndrome. We have a barrier in life and we want to break the barriers today and show the whole world that life is an opportunity for people with disabilities."

He added: "Born to Perform gives us an opportunity to be ourselves. No one judges us."

The group gave it their all, with smiles on their faces, as they danced to You Can't Stop the Beat from hit movie Hairspray. They all wore matching white tops, while the girls wore sparkling flowing skirts and the lads wore dark trousers with brightly coloured braces.

The act received a standing ovation from the crowd and judges as the London Palladium erupted into cheers once the performance came to an end. Alesha said that their passion poured out and praised them all for such a good job. Amanda added that she did not stop smiling while watching.

Simon caused the audience to audibly gasp as he said: "I didn't like it." He went on to add: "I loved it!"

David shadowed Simon's comments as he said: "I loved it so much that I am going to do this..." He leaned over and pressed the golden buzzer causing the stage to fill with golden confetti. The contestants where elated as they danced around the stage with joy.

Fans on Twitter were overjoyed, with some brought to tears at the happy moment. Sarah said: "I’m so happy for them! Yes David!!! They deserved that golden buzzer! It brought a tear to my eye! #BritainsGotTalent #BGT @BGT."

Ian said: "Born to Perform are a wholesome act full of talented individuals who make for an inspiring group of people #BGT." Meanwhile, Kelly said: "Ok David’s golden buzzer has floored me. That means the world and more to them. #bgt"
