Britain's Got Talent fans disappointed as Saturday night show cancelled

Britain's Got Talent fans will have to endure next Saturday night without the popular show as ITV makes room for the Eurovision Song Contest. Liverpool is hosting the international singing competition and huge parties are set to take place across the UK to mark the occasion.

Semi-finals for the musical event will take place this Tuesday, May 9 and Thursday, May 11, with the grand final at Liverpool Arena on Saturday, May 13. Mae Muller will represent the United Kingdom performing her track I Wrote A Song, reports Devon Live.

Ian Hyland, TV critic for the Daily Mirror, ITV tweeted about the schedule change. He wrote: "ITV has pulled next Saturday's Britain's Got Talent to avoid a clash with Eurovision 2023. Wise move."

But there is some good news for BGT fans, as the show will go ahead on Sunday instead (May 14). The series' viewers complained to Ofcom after last week's instalment when a Keynsham clown performed.

Fans of the televised talent competition were left screaming as The Clown from Keynsham's FEAR Scream Park made a brief appearance during last Saturday night's episode.

Despite pulling off some incredible magic tricks, The Clown was booted off stage pretty quickly as a result of Simon 's coulrophobia, or fear of clowns, meaning he didn't get the desired 'golden buzzer'. A number of viewers complained to Ofcom over The Clown's unexpected, pre-watershed appearance.

Whilst some viewers were left feeling unsettled, others were impressed, and wanted to see more of FEAR Scream Park 's talent show offering. Simon's phobia of clowns is well-known, with the music mogul having claimed that he started the killer clown fad of 2016 after his worst fear was made known to the public on America's Got Talent (AGT) that year.
