Britain's Got Talent duo Bars and Melody look unrecognisable nine years after audition

Music duo Bars and Melody look unrecognisable nearly ten years after being named finalists on Britain's Got Talent. Back in 2014, Leondre Devries and Charlie Lenehan competed in the ITV talent show.

At the time, the baby-faced teens impressed judges, coming third in the live final. In the years since their TV debut, Bars and Melody are all grown up, and have released several albums, performed international tours and competed in other talent competitions, reports the Mirror.

Now, both members look completely different from their BGT days but are still working together as a musical act.

Leondre - now 22, who was known as Bars' - has stretched in height and sports a new, more mature hairstyle. And 24-year-old Charlie - also known as 'Melody' - welcomed his first child last year. Now a father, he boasts tattoos across his neck, arms and chest, his locks also having grown out since appearing on the reality show.

Bars and Melody competed on the eighth series of BGT, which aired in 2014. Their audition saw them receive the Golden Buzzer from head judge Simon Cowell, 63.

It meant that they automatically qualified for the semi-finals and they subsequently ended up reaching the final. They came third, with the series won by act Collabro.

Bars and Melody's debut single, Hopeful, reached Number 5 in the charts. Their debut album, 143, was released in 2015 and they've continued to release music since then.

They were later finalists on Britain's Got Talent: The Champions in 2019. The following year, Bars and Melody competed on America's Got Talent: The Champions.

The pair - who have performed in a number of countries over the course of their career - released their latest single, which was titled Down, in November last year.

The duo reflected on ther BGT audition in 2021, in a post which marked its seventh anniversary. They shared a clip on Instagram of the moment they got the Golden Buzzer.

Alongside the video, they wrote in the caption: "7 years today. Words can't explain the feelings towards this video. The moment that changed our life forever!"

The pair further commented: "Thank you for being by our side every step of the way. We have come to the end of the beginning. Our journey's just started."
