Britain's first dog pub menu includes £1.50 kebabs, curry and 'whatever's in kitchen' mezze

Pet owners are rushing to a cosy pub in Kent to try out its new dog-friendly food menu.

The King's Arms in West Malling, Kent, has solved the relatable problem of having to share your dinner with your begging dog.

One pub-goer, Amanda Greenslade, said: "My pooches absolutely woofed down their doggy dinners! But what I loved about this most, is the fact I ate MY dinner in peace without the ‘please mum, give me a bit’."

The King's Arms has four plates specifically made for dogs' delicate palettes - and there is even a vegetarian option for non-meat diners.

Diners can order a £2.50 meat mezze, which comes with chicken, beef, sausage, ham, lamb and "whatever is in the kitchen".

There is also a sausage kebab dish, priced at £1.50, described as a selection of "sausages with carrots on kebab sticks".

The vegetarian options are cheese cubes for £1.50, or 'sagapoo', made with carrots, potatoes and rice, covered in gravy.

The dog-friendly, Indian-inspired dish even comes with wipes to clean pups' mucky faces.

Posting abut the launch online, a spokesperson for the pub said: "At The King’s Arms we understand that a dog is so much more than a pet."

Dog lovers have rushed to assure pub bosses that the idea is great, and they haven't made a right dog's dinner out of it.

Visitor Sara Wood said: "Highly recommend, my two dogs loved it. Will definitely be back." and Rebecca Hodges said: "That is so cool."

But Sarah Cowling joked: "Sorry, but I’m getting the dog’s meal cheaper aren’t I."

The King's Arms isn't the only pub giving furry friends a very warm welcome.

The Angel, near Wimbourne, has a large beer garden that serves dog-friendly ice-cream, and The Fox Inn at Antsey has plenty of beautiful countryside walks perfect for dogs.

A pub named the Three Legged Cross in Dorset also offers pooches water and treats to keep them comfortable during their visit.
