A Fife hotel which boasts a beer garden by the beach has been named as one of the best seaside hotels in Britain.
The Times this weekend published their guide to the top coastal stays and included three Scottish destinations as part of the 25-strong list.
And one, just over an hour's drive from Edinburgh in Elie, could offer the perfect staycation spot for those looking to get out the city - or at least a great day trip stop-off for some hearty grub and drinks by the beach.

Describing the famous Ship Inn as a 'East Neuk institution', Times writers pointed to the inn's bedrooms being 'six little havens', while shining a light on that famous beer garden and the views out to sea.
They said: "The beach at Elie is a locals’ playground. At low tide every second Sunday in summer, the townsfolk don expertly ironed white flannels for beach cricket.
"The best perch from which to spectate is the beer garden of this East Neuk institution, which sits right by Elie’s seawalls. Order the fish and chips or seafood landed in nearby Pittenweem and you’ve definitely backed a winner.
"The rooms will also bowl you over: six little havens, all spritzed in cream and marine hues with white shutters on the windows and views out to the North Sea and Fife Coastal Path to Bass Rock."
Doubles at the Elie B&B start from £100. To find out more, you can visit their website here.
The Ship Inn was joined on the list by two other Scottish hotels - The Colonsay in Argyll and Bute and 57 Nord in the Highlands.
