Brit Awards star Maya Jama sparks speculation with 'bladdered celebs' remark on camera

Maya Jama sparked speculation from viewers about who she was referring to when she told host Mo Gilligan that there were some 'bladdered celebs' at Tuesday night's Brit Awards.

Having presented the Red Carpet arrivals on ITV2 alongside Clara Amfo, Maya joined Mo on the main show on ITV as the hist of the backstage area.

Mo, who replaced Jack Whitehal l as Brits host this year, chatted with Maya on numerous occasions during the two and a half hour broadcast and, on one of the last on camera chats, she told the Masked Singer star she'd been scanning the room and noticed "a lot of bladdered people around."

After Mo asked her how the Brits had been for her, the Walk the Line presenter replied: "Oh it's been eventful. There's a lot of bladdered people around. Couple of fall overs, a couple of slurry ones.

"But nice times."

Mo replied: "There's been a couple," before asking what the most popular cocktail had been on the backstage bar.

Mo then tried to embarrass his co-star by quizzing her on the 'rock' on her finger, suggesting she'd got engaged.

Refusing to comment, Maya quickly put her hand her back so the ring was no longer in view as Mo commented: "That is the size of a small studio bedroom flat!"

The big winner at the Brit Awards 2022 was Adele who took home three trophies - Song of the Year, Album of the Year and Artist of the Year.

As well as having a new host, a clutch of new categories were introduced for this year's Brit Awards.

These include British Artist of the Year and International Artist of the Year, rather than separate Male and Female categories and genre specific ones like Dance and Rock/Alternative.
