Bristol Water has apologised to its customers after many people were left without water due a burst mains in Keynsham earlier today (Thursday, June 16). Multiple areas nearby were also affected including Saltford and Whitchurch.
The company first became aware of the issue around 12noon on Thursday. Bristol Water posted on social media that it was aware Charlton Road had flooded. It took several hours to sort the issue which meant homeowners across the three areas suffered low pressure, while others had no water on the hottest day of the year so far.
A spokesperson from Bristol Water told Bristol Live that a main had burst on a large a trunk supply mains on Charlton Road in Keynsham. This led to customers in Keynsham, Saltford and Whitchurch being affected.

A statement said: "We have had assistance from the police to close the road while our inspector and crews are working on the repairs. We have shut valves along the network to stop the flow of water from the burst and have had assistance from the fire brigade to clear the road.
"We really appreciate how patient and understanding our customers have been so far today and apologise for the inconvenience."
Bristol Live understands that the issues were resolved just before 6pm this evening.
