Bristol has a rich nightlife scene that means you're never far from something fun after dark. Each area of the city brings their own unique atmosphere to nightlife in Bristol - but which places are the best to go out in?
The city was recently voted the eighth best city in the UK for a night out by locals in a new survey by 888poker. Liverpool is considered the best city in the UK for a night out according to local reviews. When the vote was put to tourists, however, Bristol did not make the top ten and almost 78 per cent of visitors considered Glasgow the best city for a night out.
Poker magazine 888poker has analysed over 51,000 TripAdvisor reviews from locals and tourists to find out where is the best spots to go out in each UK city and which UK cities have the best overall nightlife. It also identified which cities were best for comedy, music venues, LGBT+ venues, casinos, bars and pubs, and nightclubs based on the percentage of venue ratings that are either four or five stars, considering the first 100 reviews.

Residents of Bristol favoured Old Market as the best area to go out in the city with 92.9 per cent of Bristolians leaving four and five-star reviews at nightlife venues in the area. The LGBT+ scene was voted the best part of Bristol's nightlife with 76 per cent of Bristolians leaving four and five stars at LGBT+ venues.
Residents rated the bars and pubs as the second-best aspect of Bristol's nightlife (72.2 per cent) while the comedy clubs as the third-best (65.6 per cent). This was based on 888poker's analysis of 19,236 TripAdvisor reviews from city residents.
Tourists, however, viewed Clifton as the best area to go out in Bristol (87.5 per cent), suggesting Clifton is the most tourist-friendly area in Bristol for a night out. The music venues were considered the best thing about Bristol's nightlife with 82.8 per cent of visitors leaving four and five-star reviews at the music venues in Bristol.
The second best part of Bristol's nightlife for tourists is the bars and pubs (72 per cent) and LGBT+ venues came in third place (75.5 per cent).
