Bristol Rovers boss Joey Barton has been nominated for the League Two Manager of the Month award for March as the Gas' stellar run of form continued.
The Gas took 15 points from six games in March to enhance their promotion credentials, with the only blemishes coming in narrow defeats at Newport County and Carlisle United. After Saturday's win over Bradford City, Rovers sit fifth in the table with six games to play, with no club taking more points in the fourth tier since the turn of the year.
Salford City's Gary Bowyer, Paul Simpson of Carlisle United and Exeter City boss Matt Taylor are the other managers to be nominated, with the winner to be announced on Friday.
Explaining Barton's nomination, an EFL spokesman said: "Lost amid his side’s relentless drive into the play-off positions with another five wins from seven games has been the solid foundation on which he has built Rovers’ momentum. They kept four clean sheets and conceded just three goals."
The four men up for the League Two Player of the Month prize are Cameron Dawson (Exeter City), Ben Garrity (Port Vale), Mitch Pinnock (Northampton Town) and Ruel Sotiriou (Leyton Orient).
