A Bristol-based tech firm has been acquired by a global electronics firm.
Microwave Amps, which is based on South Liberty Lane in Bedminster, produces radio frequency amplifiers used in industrial, scientific and defence sectors.
The business has now been bought by Swedish company ScandiNova Systems, which specialises in pulsed power systems for radiotherapy and other scientific applications. The global firm exports more than 95% of its products to clients in around 50 countries.

Founder and managing director Neil Richardson will continue to lead Microwave Amps, with both companies saying customers would benefit from a “stronger” combined portfolio.
ScandiNova said the purchase was part of its strategy to enhance its radio frequency offering and its position in integrated power systems for medtech, industry, and science markets.
Mr Richardson said all Microwave Amps had agreed that “the best possible settlement had been achieved”.
National law firm Freeths advised Microwave Amps on the sale.
