Bristol pasta restaurant added to The Good Food Guide as a 'local gem'

An Italian eatery in Bristol has been dubbed a 'local gem' by The Good Food Guide. Little Hollows Pasta Co has been added to the popular foodie guide less than 18 months after its doors opened.

In its entry, the Redland restaurant is praised for its 'excellent value' set lunch as well as its famed pasta in dishes such as pappardelle with Creedy Carver duck leg ragù or mafalde with cuttlefish ragù, chilli, capers, brown crab and bottarga.

Little Hollows founder Chris Davies said: "Another great surprise when we were contacted by The Good Food Guide last week. It’s a testament to all of the hard work our team here put in, front and back of house."

He was similarly complimentary to his colleagues in a post on Instagram, where he acknowledged 'the whole team’s hard work and creativity that got us here", as well as "all our customers and suppliers that make all of this possible'.

The Good Food Guide is the latest gastronomic publication to recognise Little Hollows. In September last year, after being open for less than a year, the restaurant was named among the new additions to the prestigious Michelin Guide, a nod that Chris said at the time came as "a real surprise."

A self-taught pasta maker, Chris started his business selling handmade pasta at local markets and delivering pasta boxes to people’s homes during the pandemic. He finally opened up on Chandos Road in October 2021, offering fresh pasta, previously described by Bristol Live as "perfect", made daily on-site in full view of passers-by.

Bristol now boasts 16 entries in the guide, and Little Hollows joins the popular Italian eatery Bianchis in Montpelier, which was added in February. Founded by Ben Harvey with his cousin Dominic Borel, the restaurant is part of the Bianchis chain that also includes The Good Food Guide recognised Pasta Loco and Pasta Ripiena.
