A well known Bristol DJ and promoter has gone viral on social media after he mistakenly thought he was getting a tank full of petrol for £1 - so filled up two other cars.
Mike Ind, a former event manager at Lakota, shared what he called a ‘blond moment’ with friends on Facebook, only for his post to go viral and end up being reported by the likes of the Daily Star and LadBible.
Mr Ind told his friends and social media that there was something amiss with the pumps at Tesco because he was only charged £1 when he put £40 on Saturday, the Daily Star reported.

He recommended to his friends and followers on Facebook to take advantage of the issue, and said he’d got two other cars and filled them up too before the problem was fixed.
But his petrol bubble was burst when someone pointed out to him that the £1 charge on his bank card statement was the standard authorisation amount that allows customers to refuel after putting in their card with the ‘pay at pump’ system, with the actual amount of the fuel - minus the £1 - taken out of a customer’s account later.
Mike’s post admitting the mistake went viral, with thousands of shares, and he was quick to see the funny side. “What a w***er I am. Thought it was too good to be true,” he laughed. “Never get anything in life for free and I don’t know how I managed to get this far in life.”
The post left many people in stitches, with some users saying they would also have thought there was a £1 offer on fuel. One admitted: "Something I'd do tbh," while another added: If I didn't know I for sure would've done this."
He later changed his Facebook profile to a mock-up of him at a petrol pump, and the fuel fool said he was pleased to have brought some fun to this week.
He said he was ‘shocked’ at how the escapade went viral, and was pleased ‘so many people found it funny’.
“I even had people in two shops stop & talk to me as (they’ve) seen the piece and it made them laugh,” he wrote on Facebook. “Obviously I was just having a laugh with friends on here, which if anyone knows me knows I don’t mind taking the mickey out of myself as life is hard at times especially these last few years so laughter always helps,” he said, adding that he’s been asked to go on the radio with the story too.
“It’s quite nuts really but (I'm) glad my moment has made people laugh a bit (even if it was at my expense, which I don’t mind) as life is short so sometimes we need to remember to laugh and have fun. Will never change how I am even if it mean having a laugh at myself,” he added.
