Bristol KFC manager "snatched" food from woman and refused to serve her

A woman was the subject of an "unprofessional" and "intimidating" experience at a KFC branch in Bristol. Sarah Mahony visited the store in Fishponds on August 9, the day they launched an offer of nine pieces for a price of £5.99.

However, she was left "disgusted" by the service after initially being told by the manager he wasn't going to honour the £5.99 deal that was launched the same day. Ms Mahony had also purchased a boneless banquet as part of the same order, and despite not being a promotional item was refused any part of her order by the manager.

Things quickly turned from bad to worse when another member of staff tried to offer her the boneless banquet. The manager then allegedly snatched the food from her hands and ripped the bag in half.

Describing the experience Ms Mahony says: "I ordered nine pieces for £5.99 and a boneless banquet and used a £5 voucher code but when I arrived to collect the manager said he wasn’t willing to give me nine pieces for £5.99.

"Eventually I asked for just the banquet but he said he wasn’t able to give me any part of my order and that I would be refunded.

"When another member of staff tried to give me the boneless banquet he snatched it from me ripping the bag in half. I was absolutely disgusted at the way I was treated, he was very unprofessional, rude and intimidating.

"The other members of staff and customers looked shocked and in the end, I had to drive to another KFC in Filton to order. They were very helpful and gave me my order including nine pieces for £5.99 but I wasn’t able to use my £5 voucher as it had already been removed.

"In the end, KFC gave me my £8.48 back but offered a boneless dip for free as they said they weren't able to give me the £5 voucher back on my app but there was no mention at all about the manager."

When Sarah reached out to the KFC support team, all she heard in response was: "Thanks for getting in touch. I'm so sorry to hear that you faced issues while using our KFC Mobile Ordering. Thank you for letting us know so we can try to make things right for you and improve our service in the future."

KFC has been contacted for comment following the incident in the Fishponds branch.
