Bristol hotel launches afternoon tea with free gin cocktails and street art

Harbourside hotel The Bristol is launching a new afternoon tea menu, and is giving away free gin cocktails to customers to celebrate. The ‘G & Afternoon Tea’ menu launches on August 8 and every adult ordering afternoon tea (priced at £25 per person) between then and August 14 will receive a complimentary gin cocktail.

Coinciding with the start of National Afternoon Tea Week, the hotel’s new menu also celebrates the creativity and artistic spirit of Bristol as well as supporting local producers. The ‘G & Afternoon Tea’ menu sees the hotel in Prince Street join forces with Bristol Dry Gin, Park Street shop Bird & Blend Tea Co, and Bristol-based street artist SP: Zero to showcase the very best of the city in a modern twist on the traditional afternoon tea.

SP: Zero brings his trademark stylings to the menu highlighting the floral botanicals featured in the teas and cocktails, classic cakes and some of the harbourside’s most iconic sights in its artwork. Served in the The River Lounge (or The River Grille for larger groups), the ‘G & Afternoon Tea’ includes all the classics, such as cucumber and cream cheese finger sandwiches, warm scones served with Cornish clotted cream and a selection of handmade miniature cakes, served on The Doyle Collection’s Heritage Collection bone china.

A unique mix of teas, curated in partnership with the Bird & Blend Tea Co, has been selected by the team to complement the food. There are traditional blends like Earl Grey Crème on the menu, alongside contemporary options such as Eton Mess and Proper Mint created specifically for The Bristol.

A dedicated tea-inspired menu of three cocktails, created in collaboration with Bristol Dry Gin, includes the fragrant Passiflora made from Earl Grey-infused Bristol Dry Gin, Passion Fruit Purée and Vanilla. Each cocktail costs £12.

The Bristol’s ‘G & Afternoon Tea’ menu launches on August 8, priced at £25 per person. There is an additional cost of £12 per G & Tea cocktail (or glass of Rathfinny English sparkling wine), but those who enjoy the ‘G & Afternoon Tea’ experience between August 8 and 14 will receive a complimentary G & Tea cocktail per adult.

Dairy-free, gluten-free and vegan afternoon tea options are available, if advanced notice is given at the time of booking. To make a reservation, visit the website here or call 0117 923 0333.
