Bristol Halloween events include film screenings in a cemetery and caves

It's officially autumn which means it's time to start planning your Halloween events this October. Bristol offers a number of events like pumpkin picking, club nights and of course, trick-or-treating - but there are a number of film events taking to the big screen throughout the month.

Scary films are arguably best enjoyed as a communal experience in cinema theatres that have the best quality and biggest screens. There are several festivals and Bristol cinemas offering back-to-back films that will make you jump out of your seat - with some family-friendly features available too.

Here is a list of all the film festivals, screenings and anniversary events this month:

Redcliffe Caves, the setting for some of Bristol Film Festival's screenings (Bristol)

This annual festival is known for hosting film screenings in some unusual settings - what could be more spooky than watching a film in Arnos Vale Cemetery? At Bristol Film Festival, the movie and location are carefully matched together to create an immersive experience for the viewer.

The festival is offering more than 20 film titles old and new including The Evil Dead series at Redcliffe Caves, The Nun at Averys Wine Cellars and popular titles Twilight and Corpse Bride at Arnos Vale Cemetery. Its Halloween season kicks off on October 13 at the Bristol Improv Theatre with the Rocky Horror Picture Show - adult tickets are £15.50 each.
