Raspberry Mars Bar sold at B&M is 'delicious' according to Bristol foodie

The Mars bar has been a staple of the British chocolate shelf since it was invented in 1932 by a man called Forrest Mars, and has remained pretty much unchanged and untampered with on these shores ever since then.

But in Australia, they like to mess about with traditional things, and the Mars bar is no exception. While Britain has the Mars bar and an energy-bar version, chocolate connoisseurs Down Under have long embraced the concept of different flavours of Mars bar.

Those weird and wonderful versions of the British classic are rarely found over here, but a Bristol foodie YouTuber by the name of Steve Eats, has tracked one down to the B&M store behind The Mall at Cribbs Causeway, and given it a review.

A Raspberry Smash Mars Bar sounds either amazing or disgusting, depending on what kind of person you are, but Steve Eats is a huge fan.

Methodically cutting it open to reveal a purple-pink raspberry flavoured nougat at the base, which Steve enthusiastically sniffs. “Ohhh, it smells! That’s intense. The raspberry is just…”

After eating it, he declares the Raspberry Blast Mars Bar: “I’ve got to say I’m speechless. That is the best chocolate bar I’ve had in a long time. It’s possibly up there in my top 5 chocolate bars ever.

"Well done Mars Australia, why can’t we have things like this? Why don’t we get things like this, here in the UK? You go to these shops where they’ve imported bars of chocolate from other countries, but here we get just the basics.

“I can definitely say it’s worth every penny of the £1.29 - wow, what can I say? Delicious,” he added.
