Bristol City vs Wolves FA Cup Preview, Prediction, Team News and Predicted Lineups

Championship side Bristol City welcome Premier League side Wolves in the FA Cup and you can find our preview, prediction, team news and predicted lineups below.

Bristol City vs Wolves Preview

Bristol City are enjoying a strong run in the Championship, remaining undefeated for four consecutive matches and are just three points off the play-offs.

Liam Manning’s side picked up a 1-0 victory over Derby in their last fixture, thanks to a Luke McNally strike in the opening 20 minutes.

This is Bristol City’s FA Cup match of the 24/25 campaign and this competition has failed to bring any success over the years – failing to pass the fifth round since 1973/74.

They will be the underdogs going into Saturday’s clash, as they welcome Wolves who are starting to turn results around after Gary O’Neil’s departure.

Wolves have beaten Leicester City, Manchester United and picked up a point against Tottenham Hotspur – but they were heavily beaten by Nottingham Forest in their latest fixture.

The FA Cup has been of interest to Wolves, reaching the quarter final and semi final in recent years and they have won the competition three times (1938/39, 1948/49 & 1959/60).

Bristol City vs Wolves Team News

Bristol City will welcome the return of Kal Naismith and Mark Sykes who are both back in contention for the first time since November.

Rob Dickie is a doubt for the match after suffering with illness and Manning will have difficulty replacing the defender with limited options – meaning Dickie may be forced into the lineup once again.

Sinclair Armstrong, Ayman Benarous, Cameron Pring and Joe Williams are all set to miss the FA Cup clash through injury.

Wolves will be unable to call upon their star man, Matheus Cunha, as the Brazilian misses his final match of a two-game suspension for his actions against Ipswich.

Nelson Semedo and Craig Dawson are doubts for the match, but could feature if they complete late fitness tests before the match.

Wolves have added Emmanuel Agbadou from Reims for around £16m and it may be a good time to introduce the defender on Saturday – as a rotated side is expected.

Bristol City vs Wolves Predicted Lineups

Bristol City: O’Leary; Vyner, Dickie, McNally; McCrorie, Knight, Bird, Roberts; Twine, Wells, Mehmeti

Wolves: Johnstone; Doherty, Agbadou, Bueno; Pedro Lima, Doyle, Gomes, Ait-Nouri; Hwang, Guedes, Forbs

Bristol City vs Wolves Prediction

Wolves have started to find their feet under the new manager and are the favourites to win on UK betting sites, due to their Premier League superiority.

With that in mind, we expect the visitors to pick up a comfortable victory in Bristol and win by two clear goals.

Prediction: Bristol City 1-3 Wolves
