Talk about being in a spot of bother... here's the proof that witnessing a Bristol City penalty is a rare sighting.
A remarkable stat that covers the biggest 31 leagues in Europe, over 600 teams in total, reveals the Robins are rock-bottom in regards to the frequency of penalties awarded.
Look away now Nigel Pearson. Thanks to data provided by the CIES Football Observatory, since the start of the 2018/19 season, City have been awarded a penalty every 1,834 minutes.
That's every 30.5 hours of football or averaging just over every 20 matches to put it into perspective. City fans can be excused for erasing the memory of the only penalty they have received this season.
It came in the forgettable 3-2 defeat at 10-man Coventry when Callum O'Dowda was tugged back in the box before Chris Martin buried it in the bottom corner. No need to go into any further detail about what happened next.
The bad news is that the clash at the Coventry Building Society Arena was 10 matches ago, meaning the sceptics among us can expect the next spot-kick to come in the home match with Birmingham on March 5.
It also makes Pearson's claim that City should have had a penalty in the defeat against Fulham futile when Jay Dasilva was floored while the scoreline was still a respectable 3-2.
A closer look at the numbers from data collected since the start of the 2018/19 season further highlights the rarity of the Robins earning a penalty.
Their 1,834 minutes is 317 more than Israeli side Hapoel Hadera who remain next in the list while penalties for Sean Dyche's Burnley (1,474) also prove few and far between. The next Championship side is Birmingham City (1,215) who just sit ahead of Huddersfield (1,080).
City also average one penalty every 91 'big chances' created - again, by far the highest in comparison to the rest of the lengthy list of teams with Burnley next in line with 80.
Just to give a clearer indication of the mammoth gulf that separates the top from bottom, Greek side Panathinaikos earn a penalty every 15 big chances created.
Although the top four teams in that table are all Greek which may have something more to do with the style of football and standard of referring in comparison to the rough and ready unforgiving nature of the Championship.
At the other end of the spectrum, Serbian side FK Crvena Zvezda are awarded a penalty every 239 minutes whilst Blackburn Rovers are the teacher's pet of the Championship with a penalty every 564 minutes - narrowly ahead of rivals Preston (576).
If there are any positives out of these findings, and this could be scraping the barrel, it's that Bristol City are 75 per cent likely to score their opportunity from 12-yards. Nine Championship sides boast a better record with West Brom the most lethal in the division (91%).
Stoke have the worst conversion rate in the entirety of the 31 leagues, scoring just 40 per cent of their opportunities.
