Bristol City player ratings vs Norwich: Atkinson and Scott impress but errors prove costly

Dan Bentley - 6

Caught in no man's land for the opener but can't be blamed after Naismith missed the ball. Similar for the second and had no chance for the third. Made a really good save to deny Pukki and again against Hernandez to keep City in the game.

Zak Vyner - 7

Unlucky not to keep out Norwich's second when his deflection took it into the corner. Could have got closer to his man from the corner for the host's third. Solid performance overall.

Kal Naismith - 3

A really bad error to allow Pukki to open the scoring when he misjudged a long ball over the top. His second error was arguably worse as he gave a loose pass straight to a Norwich midfielder for Norwich's second. Better in the second half but the damage was unfortunately already done.

Rob Atkinson (off 83, Martin) - 8

Made a superb trademark run forward to help get City back into the contest when his pass found Wells out on the left. Looked really confident on the ball and a solid performance.

Mark Sykes (off 69, Semenyo) - 7

Excellent in the first half, caused trouble down that right flank. Got himself into good positions but final ball could have been better. Tired in the second half and was eventually replaced by Semenyo.

Jay Dasilva - 7

Really solid first 45 minutes, unlucky not to score when his shot was blocked from close range. Nunez was happy to exploit the space behind him when venturing forward.

Matty James - 7

Another solid performance in the middle, disciplined and was a key component in City winning the midfield battle. Norwich exploited space behind him a couple of times early in the first half but James quickly grew into the game.

Alex Scott - 8

Controlled the midfield again. Another excellent performance on his 50th league game for City. Only fault in his performance was one or two of his deliveries could have been better but that's being picky.

Andi Weimann - 7

Usual energetic performance without particularly threatening the Norwich goal. Picked the ball up in good areas and linked up well with Wells and Conway. Moved to wing-back for the final 20 minutes.

Nahki Wells - 7

Could have scored when he had a strike well blocked in the first half. Played a superb cross for Conway to head City back into the game. Almost headed City level just after half-time. Never stopped running and performance just lacked a goal.

Tommy Conway (off 76, Williams) - 7

Missed a great chance in the first minute after Byram's error. Made up for it when he headed in Wells' cross just before half-time to maintain his terrific form. Another lively and dangerous performance.

Substitutes

Antoine Semenyo (on 69, Sykes) - 7

Needed less than 10 minutes to make an impact when he rifled in City's second with his left-foot after good work by Williams.

Joe Williams (on 76, Conway) - 7

Immediate impact by dispossessing Nunez to allow Semenyo to fire City back into the contest.

Chris Martin (on 83, Atkinson) - N/A

Subs not used: O'Leary, King, Tanner, Massengo
