Bristol City player ratings vs Luton: Weimann impresses but defensive weaknesses exposed again

Max O'Leary - 5

Barely had anything to do apart from pick the ball out of his net in the first half. His kicking was very poor with numerous wayward clearances and passes. Could have come off his line to show more authority for Luton's second.

Jay Dasilva - 6

Was eager to push forward in the first half and was afforded plenty of space in an attacking sense. Could have bagged himself an assist if he showed more quality going forward. Defensively suspect on occasions but a solid performance by the make-shift right wing-back.

Tomas Kalas - 6

A man mountain at the back as he once again and he looked head and shoulders above his defensive partners this evening. Made numerous crucial defensive headers but ultimately City were still undone by two set-pieces.

Zak Vyner - 5

Started well but was off the field of play receiving treatment when Luton opened the scoring through Lockyer. Struggled in the aerial battle against Luton's giants but looked comfortable with the ball at his feet.

Cam Pring - 5

Endured a difficult evening up against the powerhouse that is Adebayo. The striker targetted the centre-back on occasions and conceded the free-kick that led to Luton's winner. Made a brilliant surging run into the box at the death but it came to no avail.

Callum O'Dowda - 5

Started quietly but grew into the contest as the game went on. Showed endeavour to get forward in an attacking sense but often lacked the quality to pick out a man. Lack of end product was once again his downfall and he was eventually subbed for Joe Williams with 15 minutes to play.

Alex Scott - 7

Yet again showed his potential in the central role as he partnered Massengo in the absence of Andy King. Showed attacking intent in the first half but tired in the second. His deliveries caused `numerous issues but City's attack had an off day.

Han-Noah Massengo - 7

Must be an absolute nightmare to play against, never gave his opponents a sniff on the ball. Launched himself into every header, every tackle and played numerous defence-splitting passes, particularly in the first half. Faded slightly in the second half.

Andi Weimann - 8

Mr Reliable proved his worth once again by scoring his 14th goal of the season. It took it superbly, opening his body and finding the bottom corner. Could have had a second but drilled a left-footed effort over the bar. Should have buried a header at the end but certainly looked like City's most likely to equalise.

Antoine Semenyo - 6

Caused sheer panic in Luton's defence on occasions but struggled with any end product. A frustrating evening for the in-form striker who couldn't get himself into a goalscoring position. Did pull off an impressive assist to tee up Weimann in the second half.

Chris Martin - 5

Will be kicking himself for failing to capitalise on a City break when his simple through ball to Semenyo was intercepted by the Luton defender. Touch was off tonight and his performance was summed up when he passed it out of play in the second half.
