Bristol City player ratings vs Huddersfield: Scott and Mehmeti a threat but Robins frustrated

Max O'Leary - 6

Nothing to do in the first half except punch a corner clear. Called into action once or twice in the second half but everything that came at him was comfortably dealt with. Made a great stop with his legs in the 90th minute.

George Tanner - 6

Some smart covering across the back four at times, including coming across to left-back to make an important interception in the first half. Almost assisted Bell with a good cross but was hesitant going forward, often delaying his final ball.

Zak Vyner - 6

Nervy opening 10 minutes with a small scare when his header to O'Leary fell short. Looked uncomfortable in possession at times and was let off the hook in the second half when Koroma fired wide. Did have his good moments, including a good block on the edge of the area.

Cam Pring - 7

Played alongside Vyner in central defence. Given plenty of time and space on the ball in possession and looked to remain positive going forward. Had a header brilliantly saved in the first half. Did well to break the lines, particularly in the second half.

Jay Dasilva - 6

Making his first start this year, Dasilva kept his opponent Hungbo in his pocket in the first half, with Warnock making the change at half-time. Relieved not to concede a penalty on Diarra. Could have offered more going forward because wasn't really tested up the other end.

Andy King - 6

Tidy and experienced in the middle of the pitch. Kept it simple in possession but evidently doesn't have that same energy Williams possesses which City missed. Largely comfortable, although Diarra's pace through the middle caused one or two issues.

Matty James - 7

Made us sweat in the first half when he spent a period of time hobbling with an ankle issue. Another solid display in the middle, calm and collected in possession and timely in the tackle. Made a great tackle on Koroma on the edge of the box which typified his performance.

Alex Scott - 7

Man-marked by Jonathan Hogg who wanted to ruffle feathers on his every touch. Allowed more space to break forward after his opponent was booked but frustrated with two final passes in the first half which would have created openings. Provided rare moments of class in the game to get City up the pitch but drifted out of the game in the final 30 minutes.

Sam Bell (off 63, Mehmeti) - 6

Started on the left of the front three and had the beating of his opponent for pace - leading to Jackson's booking after 14 minutes. Almost opened the scoring in the first half. Made some really positive runs out of possession. Quiet in the second half before being replaced.

Nahki Wells (off 63, Cornick) - 5

Found it difficult to impose himself on the contest, left isolated at times in that central possession. Forced to drop deeper to collect the ball but not much in the way of chances in front of goal. Left the field really frustrated having lacked service.

Mark Sykes (off 77, Weimann) - 6

Struggle to make a big impact in the first half, although did have a header saved at the back post. Boundless energy on the touchline, which shouldn't go unnoticed given the amount of football he has played. Made a good run down the middle but scuffed his strike on goal.

Substitutes

Anis Mehmeti (on 63, Bell) - 7

Surprised he didn't start given this was a game which needed a moment of magic. Posed a threat through the middle and had an effort deflected wide of the target. Almost assisted Scott with a cross which forced the keeper into a save to deny an own goal.

Harry Cornick (on 63, Wells) - 6

Offered a threat on his introduction and almost assisted Mehmeti when he led a counter-attack down the right side. Couldn't create an opportunity for himself.

Andi Weimann (on 77, Sykes) - N/A

Clawed one off the line in the 90th minute.

Subs not used: Haikin, Wilson, Francois, Taylor-Clarke
