Max O'Leary - 6
Had absolutely no chance with Manuel Benson's screamer but made an important save with his legs just minutes after. Denied Twine on the stroke of half-time. Perhaps could have done better with Rodriguez's effort.
George Tanner (off 57, Sykes) - 6
Had a relatively solid afternoon largely able to keep Vitinho quiet down his side. Made a crucial touch to deny the Burnley man from doubling their lead. Wasn't afforded the chance to venture forward.
Zak Vyner - 7
A difficult test for Vyner who stood up to his task well. Had to maintain his levels of concentration with Burnley slotting passes in behind. One or two wayward passes but a solid showing overall. Blazed a volley over in the second half.
Kal Naismith - 6
Initial fears about his lack of pace being exploited but positionally was disciplined and took charge of trying to build from the back. A couple of aimless passes forward when trying to play direct but Burnley cut off those channels to free Bell behind.
Cam Pring - 7
Involved in an intriguing duel up against the tricky Vitinho, one in which he was coming out on top before the brilliant goal. Made a great run forward that led to a rare chance for Cornick. Always a threat when running forward with the ball.
Andy King (off 57, Williams) - 6
Looked frustrated at times struggling to break Burnley's possession-based game. Could have been more adventurous in his passing forward to bring Scott into the contest. Made a crucial tackle on the edge of his own area.
Matty James - 7
Presence in midfield frustrated Burnley's tempo going forward, forcing them to go back on occasions. Didn't get a lot of time on the ball although showed willingness to get into advanced areas when he could.
Alex Scott (off 71, Wells) - 5
Didn't really get himself in the game in the first half with the play bypassing him through the middle as City went long. Afternoon was summed up by a hospital pass that led to Rodriguez's goal. He's had plenty of brilliant days, but today wasn't one of them in what could have been his final hurrah at Ashton Gate.
Sam Bell - 6
Didn't get an awful lot of joy out of Harwood-Bellis who matched him for pace. Lost the ball in the build-up to Benson's goal. Much more direct in the second half but little goalmouth action. Dropped deeper on Wells' introduction.
Tommy Conway - 7
Worked tremendously hard in the press, looking to disrupt Burnley's possession-based game at the back. Had just five touches in the first half, two of those coming in Burnley's half. Kept his cool with a great equaliser, albeit short-lived. Now leads the race for the golden boot with 12.
Harry Cornick (off 57, Weimann) - 6
Almost rewarded for his endeavours when his closing down forced the keeper into an early mistake. Sloppy with the ball on occasions with a couple of heavy touches, although fired an effort wide in the first half.
Substitutes
Andi Weimann (on 57, Cornick) - 7
Made an immediate impact when he unselfishly assisted Conway. Could have scored the equaliser when he fired wide following a mazy run forward. Unlucky to have a goal disallowed with a great header.
Nahki Wells (on 71, Scott) - 6
Adjudged to have fouled his man in the build-up to Weimann's disallowed goal. Produced a great cross which the Austrian headed over from.
Joe Williams (on 57, King) - 6
An industrial showing from the midfielder although looked a little rusty in possession. Understandable given his absence from a hamstring injury.
Mark Sykes (on 57, Tanner) - 7
Barely put a foot wrong coming on at right-back. Always wanted the ball out on the touchline.
Subs not used: Wiles-Richards, Dasilva, Kalas
