Bristol City player ratings vs Bournemouth: Dasilva and Naismith impress as Robins win again

Dan Bentley - 7

Little to do in the opening 45 minutes, reacted well to scoop a ball off the line and comfortably saved Dominic Solanke's shot. Kept out Kieffer Moore's effort in the second half.

Jay Dasilva - 8

Sharp down the left side and performed well, particularly up against the trickery of Ryan Christie but performed well. Played high up the pitch looking to influence the attack. Dropped deeper in the second half when City took the lead but very little came down his side. Very impressed.

Rob Atkinson (off 60) - 7

Like the other two central defenders, barely put a foot wrong. Took a knock in the first half and walked gingerly but was fine to continue before coming off on the hour mark. Key part in the goal by winning the ball high up the field and feeding Weimann who won the penalty.

Kal Naismith (off 60) - 8

Difficult task in marking Dominic Solanke but kept him quiet for large periods, perhaps one moment of worry in the first half when Solanke turned back onto his left foot. Commanding performance overall and another hugely positive sign.

Zak Vyner (off 45) - 7

Spotlight is on Zak Vyner and perhaps a surprise to see him starting ahead of Timm Klose. What that means for next weekend we can only wait and see but he did well during his first 45 minutes. Kept possession well by playing simple passes and linked up well with Sykes out on the right.

Mark Sykes (off 60) - 7

Playing at right wing-back, made a crucial block off the line in the first half. Dangerous with his crosses out on the right side, one that Alex Scott almost turned in. Almost caught out at the back post which assumingly comes with playing in an unfamiliar role. Energetic and another positive showing.

Matty James (off 60) - 8

Very solid opening 45 minutes, seeing a lot of the ball and playing smart passes out to the wing-backs who were creating space on the touchline. Timely in the tackle, often dropping deep to collect the ball from Naismith. Must have secured a starting role to take on Hull next week.

Joe Williams (off Massengo, 45) - 7

Although didn't stand out in a congested midfield, he was disciplined and held his own against Premier League opposition in Jefferson Lerma and Philip Billing. Likewise to James, kept the ball moving and was very vocal. Off at half-time presumably to keep him fresh for next Saturday.

Alex Scott (off 70) - 8

Intriguing to see him in the No10 role with Sykes at wing-back and he conjured up City's two best chances of the first half. A different class with the ball at his feet in and around the box. Bournemouth were keen to mark him tightly. Dropped deeper for 10 minutes alongside Massengo before coming off after 70 minutes.

Andi Weimann (off 60) - 7

Relatively quiet in the first half but made smart runs to provide Sykes with space to move forward out on the right. Won the penalty in the second half with a burst of speed by darting into the box. Not much of a sniff in front of goal but ultimately was still the difference in attack.

Chris Martin (off 60) - 7

Two in two for the big man who put his penalty miss against Cheltenham behind him by dispatching his effort brilliantly into the top corner. Bournemouth's quality meant he didn't see much of the ball at his feet but was still a nuisance.

Subs

Han-Noah Massengo (on 45, Williams) - 7

Industrial performance by Massengo, bringing plenty of energy in the midfield. Likely to start as a substitute against Hull.

Timm Klose (on 45, Vyner) - 6

A couple of concerning passages of play by Klose who looked a little off the pace on his introduction. Played his part in keeping the clean sheet but certainly looks more comfortable playing in the middle than on the right side.

Tommy Conway (on 60) - 7

Didn't see much of the ball but ran the channels well and got back to defend when Bournemouth came forward. Managed to get one sniff of goal.

George Tanner (on 60) - 7

Defensively sound out on the right, happy to stay further back and help defend the lead. Could be a familiar phrase over the course of the season.

Nahki Wells (on 60) - 7

Full of running, eager to impress but difficult to feed off scraps with Bournemouth enjoying more of the ball in the final 30 minutes.

Raphael Araoye (on 60) - 7

Did nothing wrong on his introduction. Difficult to imagine he's only 17-years-old and will have a bright future in the game.

Ryley Towler (on 60) - 7

Played on the right side of the defence and like Araoye, barely put a foot wrong. Was instructed by Klose to come back when he ventured up the field towards the end of the same.

Dylan Kadji (on 70) - N/A

Sam Bell (on 60) - 7

Same as Conway, lots of running but difficult to generate a chance considering the amount of changes in the side.
