Nigel Pearson has been handed a £5,000 fine by the FA following comments made against referee Andy Davies last month.
The Bristol City manager, who avoided a touchline ban, was heavily critical of the official after watching his side fall to a last-gasp 2-1 defeat at home to QPR.
He claimed Alex Scott was denied a clear first-half penalty and also bemoaned the decision to award QPR a corner that led to the Hoops' winner in injury time.
A statement released by the FA said: "Bristol City FC manager Nigel Pearson has been fined £5,000 for a breach of FA rule E3.1 following the EFL Championship fixture against Queens Park Rangers FC on 30 December 2021.
"Nigel Pearson denied that comments made during his post-match interview were improper and/or insulting and/or brought the game into disrepute. However, the charge was subsequently found proven by an independent Regulatory Commission."
In his post-match comments, Pearson described the decisions as "awful" and suggested the referee, who was once on the books of Portsmouth and Gillingham,. would be more suited to officiating in a park.
"We came across a strong team and some dodgy refereeing. We should’ve had another penalty. The decisions were awful and I’ve told him that," the 58-year-old said.
"I hope the next time we see him he’s on the park because that’s where he should be.
"How the assistant didn’t see it (the Scott penalty call). Look, we had it all on playing against 11 when we had 10 but the decisions just continued to be awful. It was a terrible performance by them (the officials).
"I’m not someone who moans a lot but let me tell you, that was awful today, and I told him as well."
