Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott will be fit to face West Brom this Saturday after the teenager has shaken off an ankle injury sustained in the 2-0 defeat at Barnsley.
Scott left the field in the 39th minute after rolling his ankle but Nigel Pearson has confirmed the England Under-19 international, who has been a key player for the Robins this term, will be available for the weekend clash at Ashton Gate.
He won't be joined by the man who replaced him on the field, however, with Joe Williams ruled out for "two or three weeks" with a fresh hamstring injury, his third of the season.
Pearson had noted before the Oakwell clash that he needed to protect the 25-year-old following his injury struggles and the prospect of two games inside four days placed too much strain on his body. However, Scott's withdrawal meant he was thrust into the action and the former Everton academy player lasted just 16 minutes.
"Alex always gets something during the game, it's just the way he plays but he's ok. He'll be training with us today," Pearson said on Thursday.
“Joe will be missing for two or three weeks which is good because it's not as bad as last time. We always know there is a risk with players who have had previous hamstring injuries - that's why he was left out of the starting 11 - but unfortunately he went on and got injured. At least it's not going to be a long term situation for Joe and I'm really pleased for him about that."
As expected, Antoine Semenyo has also been given the green light to play after suffering cramp late in the game on Tuesday. The 22-year-old is scheduled to link up with the Ghana squad following Saturday's game, earning an international call-up for the first time.
Pearson has also confirmed that second-choice goalkeeper Max O'Leary and midfielder Ayman Benarous have Covid-19 and will not be available against the Baggies. The visit of Steve Bruce's side is City's final before the international break with the Robins having lost four of their last five matches.
