Another film crew has been spotted taking over a café in central Bristol on Monday (February 13) as filming fever continues to grip the city. It's one of several productions that has been seen moving into locations around Bristol in recent weeks.
Film crews were seen taking over Dareshack on Wine Street by Castle Park on Monday. Pictures show a number of trucks parked in the surrounding streets along with a lighting rig fitting outside of the café.
One person who was part of the crew was able to confirm the filming was for an Amazon production but was not permitted to say the name of the project. The café will reopen as normal on Tuesday (February 14). Meanwhile, the Twitter Account named What's Filming in Bristol has alleged that the film shoot was for the third series of Alex Rider in production for Amazon Freevee, a free version of its existing streaming service.
On February 10, it was confirmed that the UK production is based at Bristol's Bottle Yard Studios in the brand-new studio TBY2, which opened last year. The series is being produced by Eleventh Hour Films and distributed worldwide by Sony Pictures Television.
Writing on its blog, the studio said: "We can now confirm that UK production is based at TBY2, The Bottle Yard Studios’ new premium facility. Filming is also taking place in Bristol, assisted by the city’s Film Office."
The show is an adaptation of the famous teenage book series of the same name. Season three will focus on the fifth book, Scorpia, starring Otto Farrant as the lead road. He's joined by Line Of Duty's Vicky McClure as well as Stephen Dillane and Brenock O’Connor from Game of Thrones. No release date has been announced as of yet.
Bristol's TV and film industry has boomed over the last 12 months with the city becoming a popular destination for new productions. In recent weeks, the new series of Doctor Who has been filmed across different areas across Bristol double as London, with TV star Anita Dobson spotted on set.
The new BBC adaptation of thriller novel, The Killing Kind, has also seen locations across the city masked as the capital.
