The Bristol Cider and Cheese Festival has been upgraded to another venue due to a huge surge in demand. The festival is hosted by the Cider Box and the Bristol Cheesemonger - who are considered experts in their crafts - to celebrate local cider and cheesemakers.
Unsatisfied by Bristol's offering at the time, Dan Heath founded his own company back in 2012 and embarked on his mission to find some of the best independent cider makers. The business runs successful operations from its taproom in St Philips and a store in Wapping Wharf's Cargo selling some of the very best indie producers around.
This year, the event on April 1, 2023, will be hosted at Proyard on Feeder Road for the first time. Previous years have seen the event run from the Cider Box taproom, just across the river from the new festival venue.

On Instagram, the Cider Box said: "We'll be taking over the Crane Room & Courtyard, which means more seating, more cover from the elements, more cider, more cheese, and a better space for the music we have lined up. It also means we've upped the capacity (we sold out a while ago so have been on the hunt for a solution) this means there are more tickets now available in a final release."
Tickets are on sale for £20 available through Eventbrite and include a festival cup, two half pints of cider as well as all workshops and tastings for the day. The festival will be offering tasting sessions, cheese pairings and the live music, with non-alcohol tickets available for £15.
Music will also be provided by punk-folk legends Black Water County as well as the renowned Bristol cider-folk outfit, the Imprints. The festival, on April 1, begins at 1pm until 10.30pm.
The Cider Box taproom is also celebrating its third birthday next week, with celebrations on March 17 and 18.
