Bristol’s Cannon Street Car Park has been named in the top 10 worst-rated car parks in the UK. Expert Security UK released the list after going through Google reviews.
Expert Security said: “The private parking world can be a minefield of penalties and poor customer service.” The investigation found the Cannon Street car park in Lawrence Hill scored a 2.2 out of five ranking on Google.
Comments on Google reviews included: “Paid £6 to park on the app and it started two hours before I arrived and ran out before I even left the car park! Then when I left 45 minutes later, I was charged an extra £2.10 automatically to my card!”
“Very expensive, small spaces and my wing mirror was stolen.”
“Terrible experience NEVER AGAIN. Booked in advance twice. On getting there, the space owner told me sorry 'we don’t a space for you' and they don’t have any business with a third party that I must take my car out of their premises. I ended up parking my car in the street and got fined because I had to do my night shift in the hospital. I complained about it but nothing changed."
"Horrible experience and will never again.”
YourParkingSpace, which runs the car park, did not respond to a request for comment.
According to Expert Security’s investigation, taking top spot as the worst car park in the country with 1 out of 5 stars was Rochdale Road Euro Parks in Manchester, which had complaints about potholes, a broken ticket machine and cars being broken into with no security or CCTV. The second lowest rating went to Parking Control Solutions in Wellington Place in Leeds.
