Bristol Airport: You can stay at Escape to the Chateau mansion - but flights aren't cheap

Dick and Angel Strawbridge stole the hearts of the nation when they starred in Channel 4's Escape to the Chateau. The hit series saw the couple convert an 18th-century castle into a stunning home.

As well as turning the 45-room property into a practical family house, the couple now rents it out for weddings and has a section on their land for glamping. Weddings are held in The Orangery, which is decorated in a stunning Art Deco style.

While campers can stay in luxurious floating domes during the under-the-stars experience. They also have land domes by the side of a moat, with one double bed and two singles.

All of the accommodation comes with private showers, wood-burners and BBQ areas. Every morning guests are treated to a French breakfast for up to six people delivered to your kitchen.

As well as enjoying the beautiful grounds, people can use their fishing equipment or bikes every day. Flights from Bristol Airport will take you to La Rochelle for around £161, but the grounds are close to Nantes, so you'll have to get a train or taxi for the final stint of your journey.

The Chateau Under The Stars glamping experience is currently sold out, but people keen to try it are told to keep checking back on the website for updates and sign up to the mailing list to be the first to know about new dates.

For people looking for a trip closer to home, South Pool in Devon has recently been voted the 'most beautiful' in the UK. And it also has camping options.
