Bristol Airport shares tips on how to go through passport control faster

Bristol Airport has shared some tips on how to go through passport control quicker. The airport has been experiencing delays for weeks now as it struggles to cope with the pent-up demand after the pandemic.

Travellers are continuing to turn to social media to express their frustration. Four easyJet flights out of Bristol Airport have been cancelled today, according to the airport's website.

Three flights due to arrive at the airport today have also been cancelled. Flight cancellations are being experienced at airports across the country and it was believed that hundreds of pupils and teachers would miss the start of term because they would be stranded abroad.

It comes as passengers at Bristol Airport have experienced long delays on multiple occasions in the past few weeks. A spokesperson for the airport has previously blamed the delays on staff shortages and post-pandemic demand for holidays.

And the airport has now shared some tips on how to get through passport control quicker. They are advising travellers to use the ePassport gates for quicker checks.

When using the ePassport gates, travellers must remove their passport from any cover as well as removing all hats and sunglasses. Those aged 12 and over can use ePassport.

The airport tweeted: "Flying into Bristol Airport soon? Use one of our ePassport gates at Passport Control for faster and quicker checks. Please remember to:

  • Remove your passport from any cover
  • Remove all hats/ sunglasses
  • 12 years and over can use our ePassport."
