Bristol Airport shares new rules for travellers as restrictions lifted

Bristol Airport has shared the upcoming changes to the travel rules for people coming (back) into the UK, highlighting the relaxation of restrictions.

"From Fri 11th Feb," the Airport's official account said in a tweet, "new rules will apply to international arrivals in England."

"If you are fully vaccinated (or under 18), you do not need to take a test before or after you arrive."

"If you are not fully vaccinated, you must show proof of a [pre-flight] negative Covid test & book a [post-arrival] PCR test."

All arrivals, however, will still need to fill out a passenger locator form.

The changes come into effect at 4am on February 11. They are significantly more relaxed than the current rules, which state that everyone must take one Covid test before travelling to the UK and another after arriving, while people who are not fully vaccinated must take an additional test within eight days of arriving and must also quarantine at home.

Covid cases across the UK continue to decline, albeit from a very high level. Scientists are also increasingly confident that the omicron variant causes less severe disease than previous variants.
