Bristol Airport EasyJet flight lands in Prague after 'bomb scare'

An EasyJet plane heading to Bristol from Krakow was forced to lane in Prague over the weekend (December 4), following a 'bomb scare'. According to Prague Airport, the diverted aircraft landed safely at 10.50pm local time before safety inspections were carried out.

The Guardian reports that flight 6267 was about an hour into its usual 2hr 30min flight when it landed at Václav Havel airport after a possible bomb was reported to be on board an aircraft. Prague Airport later confirmed that no dangerous object was located on the plane after the 'pyrotechnic inspection'.

In a statement on Twitter, a spokesperson for Prague Airport said: "At 22:50, a diverted aircraft landed safely at [Prague Airport] on the Krakow-Bristol route. There was reported a possible bomb on board an aircraft.

"All actions to ensure the safety of passengers and all air traffic are currently being carried out by [police]". A spokesperson later said: "No dangerous object was found on the plane after the pyrotechnic inspection."

A spokesperson for EasyJet told Bristol Live that the flight had been delayed overnight in Prague where customers have been provided with hotel accommodation and meals and will depart later today. An EasyJet spokesperson said: "EasyJet can confirm that flight EZY6267 from Krakow to Bristol yesterday evening diverted to Prague purely as a precautionary security measure. The flight has been delayed overnight in Prague where customers have been provided with hotel accommodation and meals and will depart later today.
