Due to lengthy security lines, passengers travelling through Bristol Airport this morning have been delayed by up to 40 minutes, the airport has confirmed. Following the 'very busy' period, Bristol Airport have reminded travellers to arrive two hours before there departure to avoid missing their plane.
Customers were frustrated after waiting in lengthy security queues. One customer described the airport as a "chaotic nightmare". Another Tweeted Bristol airport asking 'what on earth is going on there?' as they queued. They claimed: "Security queues preventing passengers boarding in a timely manner. 90 mis to transit security."
A spokesperson from Bristol Airport has clarified the delays were not that long, saying: “Security was very busy for a period of time early this morning, with average queues of just under 40 minutes in our central search area.

"Whether passengers have checked-in online or are checking-in at the airport, please also allow plenty of time for traffic, parking, and security search.”

It comes as French air traffic control workers remain on strike. Bristol Airport's departures board shows EasyJet's Paris service has been diverted and another flight to the French capital has been cancelled.
Air traffic control staff have joined the national action in protest at President Macron’s pension reforms. They have warned that they are preparing to take action daily until at least the Easter weekend as protests continue.
